A series of patents related to novel resorcinolic derivatives and their substituents, the cannabinoids, has been awarded for both composition of matter and utility.

The priority date of the patent, March 22, 1999, just had its 12th anniversary.  Even if any of the drugs emerge as new chemical entitites (NCEs) and  complete clinical trials with less than five years of a patent life, management believes that would be sufficient time to establish brand identity and continue marketing the drug globally to ensure a reasonable profit on the lowest possible price.
