Achieving Quiescence™A New Paradigm in the Treatment of Immune Diseases
| A Prospective Study among 200 HIV infected adults |

|
The study design involving 200 HIV infected adults is being revised by Sten Vermund, M.D., Ph.D., a world renown epidemiologist who has been on Immugen's Scientific Advisory Board for the past 10 years. A collaboration is being sought with world renown HIV clinicians whose patients smoke marijuana on a regular basis. A marijuana-smoking group of 100 asymptomatic HIV-infected individuals will be compared to 100 asymptomatic HIV-infected individuals who do not smoke marijuana. Immunological parameters and viral loads will be monitored during the course of the study. One of the goals will be to determine if the use of marijuana alone can adequately treat HIV disease and prevent the progression to AIDS. A grant application will be made to The National Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine. |
